CHECKING THE FIRMWARE VERSION

When you experience data capture issues such as dropouts, you will want to confirm the firmware version
to be sure the latest version is installed. The receiver must be connected to the PC with a USB cable and
must be detected by the software to check the firmware version.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel and select Classic View or Category – Large Icons.
  2. Double-click eBeam System Preferences.
  3. Select the System tab.
  4. Scan down to the Communications Port section.
  5. Note the number after the hardware version i.e., 6.00.81.

Note: You have the latest firmware if your version matches the number below.

UPDATING THE FIRMWARE VERSION

In the event the firmware is not current, you can receive the current firmware version by contacting eBeam Customer Support. The receiver must be connected to a PC with a USB cable and must be detected by the software before updating the firmware version.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Before you flash the firmware, you need to be sure to close and exit all eBeam software applications.
  2. Click the file link provided by eBeam Customer Support.
  3. Save the zip file to your desktop.
  4. Extract the contents of the zip file to your desktop.
  5. Run the eBeam Upgrader.exe or flashloader.exe file. Be careful not to disrupt the upgrade process as doing so may leave the receiver non-functional.
  6. Press the Done button.

The Detect System dialog may appear during the upgrade process. If this happens, just click the Retry button to dismiss the dialog.
