Checking the Firmware Version


When you experience data capture issues such as dropouts, you will want to confirm the firmware version
to be sure the latest version is installed. The receiver must be connected to the PC with a USB cable and
must be detected by the software to check the firmware version.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel and select Classic View or Category – Large Icons.
  2. Double-click eBeam System Preferences.
  3. Select the System tab.
  4. Scan down to the Communications Port section.
  5. Note the number after the hardware version i.e., 6.00.18.


Updating the Firmware Version


In the event the firmware is not current or if you are directed by the Support team to flash the firmware, you can download the current firmware version by following the steps below. The receiver must be connected to a PC with a USB cable and must be detected by the software. 

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Before you flash the firmware, you need to be sure to close and exit all eBeam software applications.
  2. Please enter the following link for eBeam support in your internet browser: www.luidia.com/support.html
  3. Select the product link that corresponds to the eBeam system type: i.e., eBeam Edge - Education.
  4. Look for the firmware section on the Downloads tab.
  5. Click the firmware version link.
  6. Save the zip file to your desktop.
  7. Extract the contents of the zip file to your desktop.
  8. Run the eBeam Upgrader.exe or flashloader.exe file. Be careful not to disrupt the upgrade process as doing so may leave the receiver non-functional.
  9. Press the Done button.

The Detect System dialog may appear during the upgrade process. If this happens, just click the Retry button to dismiss the dialog.
