San Carlos, CA—June 28, 2010 -- Luidia, Inc., the award-winning developer of
, today announced that the company will demonstrate a series of eBeam interactive products at that enable educators to enhance the level of engagement and interaction in the classroom. Luidia’s products will be on display from June 28-30 in booth #1754 at the ISTE conference at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
ISTE’s annual conference and exposition, formerly the National Educational Computing Conference, is the largest educational technology exhibit in the nation.
Luidia will showcase a series of next-generation interactive solutions that deliver interactive capabilities anytime, anywhere and for anyone. ebeam Engage - which includes JBL speakers, a wireless keyboard, one button recording and more - instantly transforms traditional classrooms into a lively multimedia rooms. As part of this new interactive ecosystem, Luidia will also provide ISTE attendees live demonstrations of eBeam Edge, eBeam Edge Cordless - a fully portable ,wireless system - and eBeam Edge+ that enables two people to interact with styli anywhere on the whiteboard at the same time. The recently announced eBeam interactive projector mount is a world first and transforms any short short throw projector into a fully interactive solution.
The eBeam Edge is the smallest, lightest interactive solution on the market, weighing less than four ounces and measuring less than eight inches long. The device uses the latest sensory technology to precisely track a stylus that interacts on the surface with virtually no lag time.
eBeam works with standard computers, projectors and a variety of input devices to transform existing whiteboards and writing surfaces into interactive whiteboards. Luidia’s patented technology makes it easy for users to present, annotate and interact with projected content, while capturing the results, which can be shared over the Internet.
To date hundreds of thousands of eBeam interactive whiteboard systems have been sold to customers across the globe with a 60 percent sales growth from June 2009 to June 2010.
“We are experiencing rapid growth and adoption of eBeam products as consumers embrace interactive eBeam solutions that work on any flat surface,” said Luidia CEO Rafi Holtzman. “In the same way that the Sony Walkman revolutionized the music industry allowing users to listen to music anywhere, anytime, eBeam products are revolutionizing interactivity. We pack cutting edge technology into lightweight, portable, easy to use solutions that can be used on whiteboards, tabletops, even glass walls – anytime and anywhere.”
Some key wins for Luidia in the past year include:
School Districts:
Vallejo School District, Vallejo, CA: Over 200 Units purchased.
“This is an amazing product. We’re happy with it,” said Roy Li, Director of Technology Vallejo City Unified School District on the eBeam Edge for Education. “We looked at different options. The cost for traditional fixed boards was prohibitive. Pricing for eBeam solutions is half the cost of other interactive systems and the freight cost is cheaper. The installation cost is very low and it’s really portable.”
Panama Buena Vista School District, Bakersfield, CA: Over 800 eBeam Units purchased. The district first purchased company’s first generation eBeam Projection product, then upgraded to eBeam Edge. All classrooms including pre-K use eBeam solutions.
“We chose eBeam for our interactive whiteboard solution due to total cost of ownership and the ability to use existing traditional whiteboards,” said Brook McKnight, IT Director for Panama-Buena Vista Union School District.
Partners:
Ile-de-France: The Île-de-France Regional Council, which represents nearly 12 million people in the Paris metropolitan area, selected eBeam technology to equip 471 schools with portable interactive whiteboard solutions during the next four years.
L’Union des Groupements d’Achats Publics (UGAP): Portable eBeam interactive whiteboard systems from eLearning solutions distributor Speechi have been selected for inclusion in the equipment catalog offered by , France’s central purchasing authority for local governments, schools and hospitals. The catalog, which generated nearly 1.4 billion Euros in orders last year, lists products approved for schools and other government agencies. Speechi is the exclusive eBeam distributor in France
“We have worked hard to break into this market,” said Speechi founder Thierry Klein. “UGAP’s selection of eBeam technology is a clear indication that these mobile interactive whiteboard solutions suit the needs of today’s instructors and students.”

— Demonstrations to Include Solutions with Interactive 3D Capabilities, First Interactive Projector Mount, Interactive Display Frame, Tabletop Interactivity, and More —

InfoComm 2010, LAS VEGAS - June 7, 2010 - Luidia, Inc., the award-winning developer of
, today announced it will be demonstrating products and concepts that deliver interactive capabilities anytime, anywhere and for anyone at InfoComm 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (booth #N518).
Live demonstrations will include eBeam-enabled 3D interactive solutions, LCD displays, the first interactive projector mount to add interactivity to any wall-mounted projector, and eBeam Boardstream for sharing whiteboard information through any web-enabled device. Luidia will also be demonstrating eBeam Engage (see today’s related announcement, “Luidia Introduces Multimedia Interactive Whiteboard.”) Partners and manufacturers can experience the open ecosystem offered from Luidia to enable the simple integration of interactive solutions into their products.
“Luidia has experienced double-digit growth over the past year, which has fueled our rapid innovation,” said Rafi Holtzman, CEO, Luidia. “We invest over twenty percent of our revenue directly into R&D. This new lineup of products illustrates the flexibility of eBeam technology and the speed with which we can respond to shifting consumer needs.”
The demonstrations will include upcoming products and showcases that highlight innovative uses of eBeam technology including:

eBeam enabled 3D solution for any flat panel display

eBeam technology is uniquely suited for 3D input. Sensors embedded into the display enable users to zoom in and out, gesture with the stylus and more. These displays are capable of over 200 inches of interactive workspace.

Industry’s first interactive projector mount

Utilizing an eBeam-enabled mount, any short throw wall mounted projector can become interactive. The integration includes an interactive electronic stylus to annotate, manipulate images, and act as mouse.

Flat panel displays

Transform any display into an interactive workspace. Luidia offers both retrofit and integrated solutions. With the Luidia retrofit solution, the eBeam receiver is mounted onto the frame of the LCD or plasma display. The sensor is less than 2mm in thickness and the software runs on PC or the display’s CPU. With the integrated solution the eBeam receiver is mounted inside the display and can run on the display’s CPU.

eBeam Capture on Preedy Glass

eBeam solutions can be used on glass or any flat surface. This demonstration will feature Luidia’s popular eBeam Whiteboard solution which allows anything written on a flat surface to be saved, shared and reused without a projector.

RM interactive tabletop application

Ideal for group collaboration, this table includes brackets for an interactive projector and eBeam receiver. It’s a height adjustable, flippable interactive space that can be viewed horizontally or vertically.
Upcoming eBeam products include:

eBeam Engage

Announced today, eBeam Engage is the newest addition to the eBeam family. eBeam Engage is a multimedia interactive whiteboard solution that features speakers by JBL, a recording mechanism, a magnetic wireless keyboard and a lightweight stylus integrated into a single console for a smoother workflow process and seamless presentations.

eBeam Boardstream

A new browser based application that captures and shares whiteboard content with users anywhere, eBeam Boardstream digitizes and streams everything written in dry erase marker. Content can be viewed on any standard web browser on a laptop, iPhone, iPad and other mobile devices.

Cordless “on the go” portable interactive whiteboard solution

A new Bluetooth enabled and battery operated eBeam Edge provides true portability. The eBeam Edge can be used for both dry erase marker capture -- in conjunction with newly designed eBeam marker sleeves -- or with a projector for dynamic interactive lessons, presentations and more.

Digital Ready Solutions

Luidia partner solutions include The Solution Board from Claridge and an Uchida Plasma Stand. Both of these products demonstrate how eBeam solutions can be gradually phased in on a variety of surfaces -- from marker boards to furniture.

eBeam Edge+

This solution allows two people to interact with styli anywhere on the whiteboard at the same time opening a new level of interactivity especially for wall size displays.

San Carlos, CA—June 7, 2010 -- Luidia, Inc., the award-winning developer of
, today announced eBeam Engage, the newest addition to the eBeam family. eBeam Engage is a multimedia interactive whiteboard solution that features a speaker by JBL, a one-touch recording mechanism, a magnetic wireless keyboard and a lightweight stylus integrated into a single console for a smoother workflow process and seamless presentations. eBeam Engage eliminates the back and forth between the computer and interactive whiteboard and enables teachers to focus on what’s important: engaging students.
eBeam Engage includes the eBeam Home button, which can be customized with favorite Web sites, applications and more, allowing presenters to jump to their favorite selections right from the board. In addition, eBeam Engage provides a wireless keyboard for quick text entry and a physical knob for scrolling through documents directly from the board, something no other interactive whiteboard on the market can claim.
“eBeam Engage was just a lot more convenient,” said Robert Pronovost, Second Grade Teacher at Belle Haven Elementary School in Menlo Park, CA. “I spent less time fumbling with technology and was able to incorporate additional content during class to better reach my students without losing a moment of instruction.”
Additionally, eBeam Engage is a more cost effective and eco-friendly choice. Traditional interactive whiteboards offer fixed board solutions that require the expensive installation and replacement of old equipment. With eBeam Engage, users can transform any existing surface such as a whiteboard or wall into an interactive teaching space. The unit can be moved from room to room for added flexibility.
“We continually analyze how users work and collaborate in the real world, so we can create new products and refine existing ones to better meet the needs of educators,” said Rafi Holtzman, CEO, Luidia. “There’s an evolving need for educational tools that can effectively integrate the various forms of information conveyed in classrooms. The eBeam product family removes these barriers so educators can effectively engage, share and capture knowledge and ideas.”
Luidia will be showcasing its eBeam technology at the InfoComm conference in Las Vegas June 9-11 in booth #N518 and at ISTE in Denver from June 28-30 in booth #1754.
