Program Description:
“Invest in What Works and Innovation Fund”
Funds will go primarily to public-private partnerships, particularly between school districts and nonprofit entities for taking proven, effective programs to scale.

School Improvement Fund

State Educational Agencies and Local Educational Agencies

Stimulus Funding:
$3 billion by formula

Timeline:
Two rounds: Fall 2009 and Spring 2010

Program Description:
Funds for school improvement initiatives in Title I schools that do not make AYP in two consecutive years. Funding is for effective interventions in low-performing schools. 40% of funds go to school improvement activities in middle and high schools.
