SAN CARLOS, CA – June 19, 2007 – Tidebreak Inc., a global leader in interactive workplace technologies, and Luidia Inc., a leading provider of innovative interactive whiteboard systems, today announced a collaborative effort to facilitate a new breed of interactive workspaces that accelerate team learning, creation, and innovation. This exciting new solution has the power to transform a standard whiteboard and off-the-shelf computers into an advanced collaboration zone.
Luidia’s eBeam® system captures meeting notes and diagrams as they are drawn on a whiteboard and can broadcast them over the Internet in real time. Tidebreak’s TeamSpot™ allows groups to easily manipulate and share digital content across devices in physical meeting spaces. When combined, you get a technology that is the perfect fit for conference rooms, group study rooms, learning commons, flexible computer labs, or any informal areas where teams gather to work together.
"We’re changing the rules when it comes to team collaboration. With our integrated solution, the room itself becomes the computer interface… making it easy for people to express, capture, and communicate their ideas,” said Dr. Andrew Milne, CEO, Tidebreak. “We have succeeded in making it easy to deploy advanced team workspaces wherever there’s room for a whiteboard and a digital display.”
The integration of eBeam with TeamSpot makes it simple for teams to actively develop ideas and co-create information while moving seamlessly between digital screen and physical whiteboard. Any person in the room can manipulate content from multiple sources interactively – whether from a whiteboard, touch screen display, or laptop. All devices will function fluidly together to help teams get work done in a more effective way.
In fact, research from Stanford University has shown that teams generate as much as 57% of their new ideas during informal activities, such as brainstorming and meetings; whereas, they produce as little as 3.5% of those new ideas during formal activities, like presentations and document development. 1
"More often than not, it is the brainstorming and ideas that come from these informal team meetings that often lead to a company’s most productive work,” said Rafi Holtzman, CEO, Luidia, Inc. “By combining Luidia’s eBeam hardware with Tidebreak’s powerful collaboration tools, teams will have the ability to share their digital and analog content seamlessly among all its members… dramatically improving productivity and communication.”
Both companies will be exhibiting at InfoComm, the world's largest tradeshow for the audiovisual systems integration and communications industry, from June 19th- 22nd at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
Teamspot can be seen in the Tidebreak booth, #5042.
eBeam will be demonstrated in the Luidia booth, #5809.
TeamSpot 3.2, with eBeam integration, will release in early Q3 - 2007. TeamSpot 3.1 users will be able to upgrade to the new version at no charge upon release. For more information, visit http://www.tidebreak.com
