San Carlos, CA – January 10,
2007 – Luidia,
Inc., a leading global provider of idea capturing technology
and manufacturer of eBeam® interactive systems, announced
today that Mexico’s Secretaría de Educación
Pública (SEP) is installing eBeam-enabled interactive
boards in seventh grade classrooms throughout Mexico as
a part of the SEP’s Enciclomedia program. Currently
used in tens of thousands of 5th and 6th grade classrooms
and developed jointly by Luidia and Alfher Porcewol S.
A. de C. V., Mexico’s leading provider of porcelain-enameled
steel products, the Alfher Interactive Board is part of
a family of interactive products based on Luidia’s
eBeam technology for the North and South American education
and training markets.
“Mexico’s education system is undergoing
a major upgrade in the technology resources and capabilities
available to students,” said Dr. Alfonso Hernandez,
CEO of Alfher. “The flexibility and accuracy of
Luidia’s eBeam technology has given Alfher the
power to produce affordable, high-quality tools that
schools need to educate tomorrow’s high tech workforce.
The Mexican government has responded enthusiastically
to this product, installing more eBeam-enabled systems
into public seventh grade classrooms than any other interactive
technology.”
Designed to meet the needs of the multimedia classroom,
the Alfher Interactive Board features a low-gloss porcelain-enameled
steel surface and embedded eBeam® technology that
works with a digital projector and computer to turn the
passive surface into a fully-featured interactive whiteboard.
Teachers, professors, and students can control the computer,
run PowerPoint presentations, and annotate slides or
documents by using the eBeam Interactive stylus directly
on the projected image.
“eBeam-enabled technology is becoming the leading solution in this great
endeavor” said Rafi Holtzman, CEO of Luidia. “Our collaboration with
Alfher is bringing major benefits to all participants in the Enciclomedia program.
The government and schools are receiving a highly robust, extremely reliable
and cost-effective solution while students and teachers will benefit from Luidia's
intuitive, yet powerful software and Alfher's superior industrial design. Luidia
and its OEMs are seeing major growth in national-level programs for interactive
whiteboards across the globe.”
