New eBeam Product Redefines the Interactive Whiteboard
SAN CARLOS, Calif. – September 3, 2004 – Luidia Incorporated, a global provider of innovative idea-capturing systems, is now shipping eBeam Interactive™,
the first portable interactive display solution designed to work specifically with digital projectors. The pocket-sized, wireless system works with a digital projector to convert most any flat surface into a large, interactive work space. Users in the board room, conference room, team room, or classroom can control the computer, run PowerPoint presentations, and annotate slides or documents by using the eBeam Interactive Stylus directly on the projected image.
Teachers and presenters now can control any mouse or keyboard
function from the front of the room while actively engaging
the audience. A multi-button stylus functions as a mouse
or pen through a unique circular user interface designed
specifically for large-screen interaction. A floating tool
palette always is available at the stylus position with
a push of a button, promoting enhanced usability and efficiency.
The intuitive software adds specific control and functionality
to Microsoft® PowerPoint® for delivering more powerful presentations.
Mouse-like functions allow users to manipulate and annotate
documents from any application on the computer. A full-featured
scrapbook application is provided for collecting drawings,
brainstorming, printing, and sharing notes, images and
ideas. eBeam Interactive also enables presenters, consultants
and educators to collaborate via the Internet, making remote
meetings and teamwork not only possible, but much more
efficient, productive, and cost-effective.

eBeam Interactive connects to a Windows® PC and any digital projector to create an instant interactive display up to 105 inches diagonal on most surfaces. An Interactive Stylus has three active buttons that send unique signals to a compact receiver which are then interpreted as a left-click, right-click, or menu request. Built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology allows users to navigate the PC from up to 30 feet away, providing flexibility in installation. The system weighs less than 1lb., and set-up takes less than five minutes.
